Hanny's passion is finding new ways with Traditional Goldwork techniques. she explained she uses the same threads but in a different way to achieve different effects.
Techniques include couching different types of metal threads using a softer thread to hold in place.
She studied with the Royal School of Needlework and then started to push the boundaries and experimented in order to create her own style of Goldwork.
Hanny has been inspired by both traditional work such as the Fishmongers Funeral Pall to more modern designs, when working with jewellery makers.
She has had many commissions, both private ones as well as taking classes at places such as the British Museum and the Needlework Museum in Redditch.
Her private commissions have included huge hangings which have taken hundreds of hours, a wedding hall in a Serbian Hotel, as well as pieces to complement jewellery makers.
We are looking forward to the workshop on the 16th July to learn more from her unique style of working with Goldwork threads.
