Jane Hunter - Eco Dyeing

Jane took us on a journey of discovery with her Eco Dyeing. She told us of her love of textiles and experimenting with potions with leaves on Anglesey, before taking up felting. But then she discovered Eco Printing and Dyeing and now teaches, as well talks, workshops and selling her beautiful items.

Jane explained you have to have very close contact with the leaves so the tannins and other chemicals that occur naturally in nature can transfer the shapes and colours onto the textiles. She uses natural fabrics such as silks, wool as well as cashmere and likes to collect in season from the hedgerows near where she lives.
