Modern Applique with Margaret McQuillen

A lovely day was had by all the people who attended Margaret's workshop. In the morning she demonstrated lots of ways of doing applique using hand sewing. She gave us lots of tips such that even the most experienced of us picked up something new. In the afternoon she demonstrated the sewing machine approached. Some people did samples and some started a Christmas runner. A very pleasant learning experience with plenty of chat and cake. Thank you Margaret.

The Wolverhampton grand theatre and the Magic Carpet

Last Saturday we were fortunate to be asked by Wolverhampton Grand Theatre to contribute to the making of a Magic Carpet . The 'Carpet' is to be displayed at the theatre during the production of Aladdin this winter. The branch is one of 25 community groups across the BlackCountry making pieces for it.
We had a lovely day as can be seen by the photos. Pauline from Heath House Studios facilitated the workshops and provided lots of goodies for us to use.
I think the pieces are lovely.
