Today was our printmaking workshop with Laura Boswell. Her publicist and husband very kindly provided a plethora of photographs which he has shared with us. Here are just some of them.
Here we all are, eager and ready to start
Laura led by example every step of the procedure
This layout shows the toolbox and the brushes for cutting the plywood and painting the watercolours
To begin we transferred our individual designs onto tracing paper and then to the plywood
Laura advised on colour separation - a block cut for each design on the board
Dot in ''physcho'' mode
This photo is courtesy of Clare, showing Dot demonstrating the correct way of holding the tool and bearing white knuckles - well done Dot, perfect!
Demonstration of the all important Kento
Cutting the Kento - the grooves into which the dampened paper is slotted so that registration is accurate
Fiona's 2 cuts for her beautiful tree design
Laura had prepared the printing papers in advance
The papers were dampened and sat inside sheets of dampened newspaper in a plastic folder.
Each print was placed back into the folder to maintain the damp pages
