Several members had a very enjoyable day with Jo Hill, machine stitching, some were very new to this technique and Jo provided an enjoyable and well taught day as seen by the work produced by the members.
I am sure you will agree a good day had by all!
Lord Mayors visit to see the Commonwealth panels on display at the Rep Theatre, Birmingham 18th January
Several of our members took part in the production of panels representing all the Commonwealth countries that took part in the Games last summer.
After they had been on display at the athletes village at Birmingham University during the Games, they are now on display at the Rep Theatre in Birmingham.
Here are a few images of the panels on display being shown to the Lord Mayor and showing some of our members who were involved.

Bargello Magic Workshop - Gail Tutcher - 21st Januay 2023
Eleven of us had a wonderful relaxing day learning to do Bargello Embroidery. It was even better that all we had to take was a pair of scissors. Everything else was provided
Gail first of all gave us a slide show , giving us a short history of this type of embroidery. We were then shown many different patterns, how to stitch them , the best way to use colour and then how our new found knowledge could be used to create a four way design.

Jennifer Collier - My Story and a workshop on Paper Slippers
Jennifer's story was a fascinating one. She has a wonderful workshop at Unit 12 in Staffordshire and gave us a most enlightening talk on her journey with stitch and paper, which you can also see on Instagram. her work is commissioned from all over the world and her attention to detail is wonderful. The workshop was enjoyed by all who took part, making paper slippers from interesting book pages and other papers.
