Angie Hughes -inspired by Klimt

October 21st saw us all being "Inspired by Klimt" with Angie Hughes. After showing us some inspiring samples Angie talked us through how to use heat transfer foils with Bondaweb and Hot Spots, including how to add foils through sequin waste and how to blend different colours together.
This was followed by lots and lots of ironing as we all created little samples.
Once we felt we had got the hang of the foiling we moved on to yet more ironing to create our larger pieces.

After our foiling was prepared Angie then talked us through the different types of machine embroidery that could be used to enhance the pieces.

Grand Theatre Stand Tall Project

This year again we were asked by the Grand Theatre to contribute pieces of work towards a community project. The Grand wanted a Giant to display on the walls of the theatre during the Pantomine season of Jack and the Bean stalk. Lots of community groups are involved in this project and today was our turn.
Pauline from Heath House facilitated the day with James Collins from the Grand. Pauline brought loads of goodies for us to play with. We could produce patches for his shirt and trousers or leaves, flowers and creatures for the background.

A lovely day was had by all and some beautiful pieces were produced.
The start of  the goodies going out lots of fabrics, glittery things, ribbons, buttons and shiny things etc
