Christmas Workshop

The Christmas workshop is always a time of great excitement and sharing of skills.
We had a choice of 2 things to make
First choice:- Pyramid vessels for candles or gift containers for the table - this gorgeous display was machine embroidered by Jean

Second choice:- Hanging bird - courtesy of Jean
So we set about IRONING...

PIECING TOGETHER...

DISCUSSING...

BEADING...

MACHINING...

MAKING TIME FOR VISITORS INTERESTED IN MEMBERSHIP...
HAVING A BREATHER...

AND THEN ADMIRING OUR WONDERFUL CREATIONS...

AGAIN...

and AGAIN...

and AGAIN...

and AGAIN...

ALL DAY LONG!
Shirley's previously prepared pieces, adorned with amazing hand embroidery and beads...allowed Shirley the time to then sit back and read a magazine choosing Christmas gifts Shirley?

The beauty of a member's workhop is that you can also ''do your own thing'' which Margaret demonstrates here with her 'bridal' collection

FANTASTIC
I did very little work today but it was a lovely day. Friendship, food and a fantastic way to finish another year at Tettenhall. Happy Christmas everyone ... see you January 12th for our next lecture with  ''the ins and outs of the Embroiderers' Guild'' - An overview of the Guild collection, including the move from Hampton Court, where it is now, how we display it and where it is going. Includes pieces from the collection to examine and admire. Also a chance to chat to Terry Murphy and view pieces of work from HQ with Annette Collinge.
