Pat Simon Lecture

Today we were privileged to see the hand crafted paper of Pat Simon, and hear her wonderful tales of Africa
Pat's tales were as colourful as her hand made bowls
Pat's boxes were inspired sometimes by the art of origami and her choice of paper is stunning. One little bowl had been made from kitchen paper
Jewellery and hand made beads. Little books of handmade papers were exquisite, some made from serviettes in stunning colours. You can see Pat had 3 bowls made on the form of the hand
Pat had worked under the tuition of Anne Dyer, Marie Roper and Bobby Britnell at Westhope Craft College
This tower of paper was after an exercise with Bobby Britnell - attach 2 pieces of paper to oneanother, 2'' square, using only paper - see what happens
One of Pat's embroidered pieces; stitches on hand made silk
Very African stitched wall hanging
Pat is very passionate about her many years in Africa and it shows in her paperwork and textiles
